🚴‍♂️ About BMX
Welcome to the World of BMX Racing

BMX (Bicycle Motocross) is an exciting, fast-paced form of bicycle racing that takes place on purpose-built dirt tracks with jumps, rollers, banked turns, and straight-away sprints. Riders compete to cross the finish line first in short, action packed races designed for all ages and abilities.

Whether you’re six or sixty, BMX is a sport that builds confidence, skills, fitness, and community in a supportive and family-friendly environment.

🏁 What BMX Racing Is

In BMX racing:

  • Riders launch from a starting gate in groups

  • Races are short, typically 30–40 seconds

  • Tracks vary in layout and challenges

  • Every track is unique, no two are the same

It’s a blend of speed, balance, strategy, and bike handling, and it’s just as fun to watch as it is to ride.

🚲 The BMX Bike

BMX race bikes are built for acceleration, control, and durability:

  • Compact frame and 20″ wheels (standard race size)

  • Single gear for power and simplicity

  • Lightweight design for quick handling

These bikes are engineered for short, intense performance, so every pedal counts.

🪖 Safety & Gear

Safety is essential in BMX racing, and this sport requires riders to wear appropriate protective gear before hitting the track:

Required:

  • Full-face helmet

  • Long pants and long sleeves

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Gloves

Recommended:

  • Knee and elbow pads

This gear helps keep riders protected while they learn and progress.

🛞 The Track Experience

A BMX track is not a typical flat field, it’s a rolling, twisting dirt course designed to challenge riders while maximizing fun.

Tracks include:

  • A starting hill and gate

  • Jumps and rollers for rhythm and speed

  • Banked berms for cornering

  • Straight sections for sprinting

Every track has its own personality, so riders experience something new every time they race or practice.

👨‍👩‍👧 Fun for All Ages

BMX racing welcomes:

  • Young children 5 year old and up just learning to ride

  • Teens and adults seeking competition

  • Families who want a shared sport

Riders go at their own pace and can focus on skill development and enjoyment, not just speed.

❓ Is BMX Safe?

BMX racing uses proven safety protocols and protective gear to minimize risk. While every sport has some risk, BMX tracks are designed to be as safe as possible for riders who follow the rules and use the right equipment.
